Yes it is that time of year again where we all scrabble around desperately trying to find a great individual or group gift for our children’s wonderful teachers. It is always a hard choice as you want to buy something that shows how much you appreciate them, but sometimes you don’t know a huge amount about their personal preferences either. So, we at Knotlace have done some research on a variety of different present ideas that are bound to make any teacher delighted with their end of year gift (and it is not another mug or box of choccies!) We have tried to include a variety of personal, different, hand-made and practical options whether for small or larger budgets. Read on!
First of all are you sending a group or individual gift? Sending a group one you can obviously get something more substantial from the whole class, but it can be tricky to organise until we came across this:
Group Together.com A parent can create a collection on the website and then GroupTogether takes control. An email can be sent to all other parents (and reminders) which enables others to donate their money online, and can sign the group card. They will keep track of all the contributions and once it has closed, the funds can be transferred into the nominated account. Then the big, impressive present can be bought without leaving anyone out of pocket, or the funds can be transferred directly into the recipient’s account. Also, there is a charitable option – It’s easy to direct a percentage of the collection to their favourite charity or cause. It’s optional and GroupTogether will even transfer the funds directly to the charity of choice. Simple!
